Philly completes season sweep moves 2 games clear in the East
In a season sweep, the Philadelphia Dark Side once again outpaced the South Carolina Scarecrows, closing out a 46-40 victory in a game that saw Jalen Hurts looking every bit the MVP with 258 yards and 4 touchdowns. Hurts’ performance was a definitive “why did you ever doubt me?” statement as he effortlessly outscored South Carolina's Kyler Murray, who had an admirable but not-quite-enough 3 touchdowns.
Philly’s defense was a brick wall, stacking up four sacks and two interceptions. The Dark Side’s Parker Romo showed his kicking prowess, knocking down four field goals to keep Philly ahead. Romo later told reporters, “Just out here kicking my way to the playoffs, one field goal at a time.”
For South Carolina, WR George Pickens was a rare bright spot with his 95 yards and a single touchdown, but Jonathan Taylor and Aaron Jones combined for a less-than-stellar two points, leading fans to question if they’d accidentally suited up wearing blindfolds.
South Carolina’s Dallas Goedert, who snagged a short touchdown, was philosophical in the post-game interviews: “Sometimes the universe just aligns for Philly, you know? Like a bad horoscope that’s somehow always right.”
As Philly continues to dominate the East, this win cements their place as serious contenders. South Carolina, on the other hand, might be left searching for answers — or maybe just a few more points.
