Philadelphia Secures First-Round Bye with a Win Over Chicago
In a game that felt more like a victory lap for the Philadelphia Dark Side and a somber farewell tour for the Chicago Fightin' Ditkas, Philly flexed their playoff muscle with a decisive 52-35 win. The Dark Side locked in the second seed and a first-round bye, while Chicago simply locked in their suitcases for an early vacation.
Chicago QB Caleb Williams showed flashes of brilliance, throwing for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns, but the Ditkas' offense sputtered like an old lawnmower on its last legs.
“I think I saw someone playing defense for Philly with one hand tied behind their back,” Williams joked postgame. “And they still got us.”
The lone spark for Chicago was Davante Adams, who hauled in 109 yards and a touchdown, reminding everyone why he's still elite—even if his team isn’t.
Philly QB Jalen Hurts was in playoff form, tossing 3 touchdowns with ease and proving he’s ready to lead the Dark Side into the postseason.
The real star, however, was Josh Jacobs, who barreled through Chicago’s defense for 66 yards and 3 touchdowns. Rumor has it Jacobs didn’t even break a sweat.
“I told the team, ‘Hop on my back, I got you,’” Jacobs said. “And they did—though I wish they were lighter.”
The Philadelphia defense, may not have posted gaudy numbers, but their 2 interceptions were enough to keep Chicago in check. Caleb Williams was overheard muttering, “Hey, at least I’ve got a cool Heisman Trophy.”
Philadelphia goes into the playoffs with momentum, a first-round bye, and a fanbase eager for a championship run. Chicago, on the other hand, heads into the offseason with more questions than answers—chief among them being, “Why did we trade away our first-round pick again?”
One thing is clear: the Dark Side is rising, and Chicago is…well, not.
